As Nova Scotia has now entered phase 2 of reopening, we are able to gather in person for worship (up to a max of 50 people).
If you wish to attend a service, please contact us and we will send you the sign-up link!
Also, please watch our instructional video so you will have an idea of what likely to expect when we do gather in person. We want to make sure everyone is safe, so please make sure to take the rules and regulations seriously.
An old Puritan author by the name of Thomas Goodwin (1600–1680) wrote a book with a beautiful title: The Heart of Christ in Heaven Towards Sinners on Earth. His purpose and goal was to warm his readers hearts by speaking to them about the heart of Christ in heaven towards sinners on earth. We, the sinners, should never be afraid to go to Christ because he has a heart for us and loves us dearly. Jesus described himself as Gentle and Lowly (Matthew 11:29). He is the one who knelt down and washed his disciples feet (John 13). He is our advocate in heaven who always lives to intercede for us (Hebrews 7:25).
Dane Ortlund has picked up on this often neglected and heart warming truth about Christ and has written a new book called Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers. He has also released a 14-Day Devotional, which is completely free! Check out the first video here:
John Piper has published a book called Coronavirus and Christ (2020). If you are looking for a free digital book to download and read or a free audio book to listen to, look no further! How timely this book is and how powerful it is to be reminded of the Rock that we have as our foundation through the storms of life!

Check out episode 2 of Pastor Chat! In this episode, Chris, Andrew, and I talk about the Lord's Supper. Should we or should we not celebrate the Lord's Supper during these days when we can't physically gather together? Is a virtual Lord's Supper actually the Lord's Supper? Does being physically gathered together matter? Is an online gathering the same as a physical gathering? All of these questions are important. We hope you enjoy this good spirited discussion between three local church pastors trying to wrestle theologically about these important matters!
I don't know about you, but some days I find myself flooded with too much information. How many new cases of COVID-19 today? How many deaths? Etc., etc., etc.
Here are some thoughts and a liturgy for those flooded with too much information.
The liturgy is from an excellent resource called Every Moment Holy (Rabbit Room Press). You can find a electronic copy of the liturgy here:
Check out the first episode of Pastor Chat. Pastor Andrew and I got together with Pastor Chris from Billtown Baptist Church to chat about the church during these interesting and difficult days we find ourselves in. We plan to release more episodes in the near future. Enjoy!
A friend of mind recently sent this prayer to me. As I read through it, I found it to be very powerful. So, I thought I would try to share it with as many people as possible. I encourage each of you to not only read this prayer but to pray it and make it your own prayer to the Father during these difficult day!
God bless each of you!
Pastor Evan Colford
